About Strange Daze

Strange Daze is a collaborative project between musician and visual artist Max Deeb and  writer and musician Galvin Chapman. It publishes a new post on the 2nd Sunday of each month, which typically includes a short story accompanied with visual art bound by common themes and concepts. The blog began in 2019 as a way to publicly express the literary and visual interpretations of the world surrounding two young adults enveloped by the Los Angeles area. Consequently, this meant acknowledging the incredibly static and sometimes uncomfortable social, professional, ethical and socioeconomic conditions of such an environment. Strange Daze aims to do just this: surface the often ignored conditions of the cultural surroundings to which many of us can relate. It presents an unfiltered (sometimes dark and sometimes comedic) expression of the city, nature and human behavior through the veil of anyone who publishes on the blog. Strange Daze is one of many efforts by the creators to sustain the arts; to inspire people to continue to create; to inspire people to start creating; to provide others with a sense of belonging; and hopefully, to capture a rather lasting sense of community.
